World Prematurity Day

I found out late that today is World Prematurity Day. I've had the privilege of knowing some incredible people who were born premature. The struggles, anguish, and anxiety that their parents had to experience is heartbreaking to think about. Although we aren't parents yet (to a human) it is very important to realize the risks involved in prematurity. To learn more, I looked to the March of Dimes. The infographic below is incredibly educational. I am so glad that my close friends and family who have experienced prematurity have been blessed with incredible lives. Although the struggles are tough and unending for some, it is important to realize that those babies survived for a purpose. Even if we don't know what the purpose is yet - you are here to touch the lives of many with your story!

This is such a worthy cause so we've donated to the March of Dimes. You can donate using the link below!

Here are some screenshots of the infographic you can find here.

Work together with March of Dimes for stronger and healthier babies! You can join the conversation on Facebook, too!

Fall in love with Daytona Beach this Fall! #LoveDaytonaBeach

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Living in Central Florida, we have so many opportunities to discover new places. We're within driving distance to beaches, theme parks, and paradise-like staycations! We absolutely love Florida's East Coast.  It's much closer to us so getting to paradise is easy-peasy.

Daytona Beach is an awesome place to visit for your next vacation because you can experience a variety of activities, dining options, and of course the gorgeous beach shores. The beaches are covered with that oh so awesome, can't wait to jump in, white sand! What's awesome is you can drive your car right up onto the sand so you'll have everything you need at your disposal. At the beach you can enjoy soaking up the sun, take a dip in the ocean, or play some beach volleyball! The beach awaits you!

The beach isn't all Daytona Beach has to offer though. If you're up for a challenge and some Outdoor Fun, you can go deep-sea fishing where some of the best bass fishing in Florida is offered. Here's a pic of Johnno catching a "holy mackerel!" last year for his birthday. We absolutely loved deep-sea fishing! We were probably the only two people that didn't get sick on the boat too, so ... #winning! *knock on wood* After our adventure out in the ocean, we came home to feast on the lovely Mackerel. It was the best fish ever - you can't beat (super duper, like we caught it this morning) fresh fish!

My amazing guy with his catch of the day!
So yummy!

The fun in Daytona Beach doesn't stop there. If you're looking for some Kid friendly options, there are plenty to choose from! If you need to save a few bucks while you're there, you can experience some Free Things to Do in Daytona Beach too!

Did you know that Daytona Beach is the Festival Capital of Florida? You wouldn't think we celebrate fall too much down there in Florida, but let me tell you - it is sure to feel like fall if you attend these festivals. For my motorcycle loving friends, you have to check out Biketoberfest. My grandpa loved motorcycles. I can't remember how many he had, but it was a lot! I won't lie, they scare me a bit, but I certainly love to look at them!

There are so many awesome adventures that await you in Daytona Beach. Have you ever been? What would you most like to experience in Daytona Beach this fall? Tell me in the comments below or share on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with #LoveDaytonaBeach!

Kitchen Reveal!

I can't believe that my first kitchen post was May 29th! Umm... where has the time gone?! Well I'm finally ready to reveal the kitchen and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you! There's still one improvement we need to make... we need to install our microwave above the stove & then this kitchen will be finished!

Here it is people! We used Southeast Steel of Orlando for our appliances and Winter Park Granite for our countertops. If you saw my previous post, we got our sink and faucets at The Home Depot! I've got an interesting story to tell you about our experience with Winter Park Granite, but that'll take a whole post. Stay tuned and in the meantime... don't rush into contract with them!

Here's the kitchen!

Smells Like Fall!

To go along with this week's theme... I'm coming at you with my heart in my hands. I give up! I've tried to resist the "fall scents" trend, but it's gotten ahold of me. So I caved... drove to Bath & Body Works and bought pumpkin scents like any basic bia would! However, let me make this clear - I will not be hopping on the PSL trend any time soon!

I have a fondness for Bath & Body Works, but I really think they should have a fondness for me since every cent I earned in my 1 1/2 years of employment went directly back into the business! YW BBW.

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin

Pumpkin Caramel Latte

What fall scents are you loving right now? Are you equally obsessed with B&BW as I am?

It's Fall Y'all!

Okay so I totally promised this post last week... (see below)

I got sick last week though and could barely focus on my day-to-day responsibilities so blogging fell by the wayside. However - I'm back and you're getting the fall post! In fact, you're getting a few! Check back tomorrow to see what fall scents I'm loving.

If you remember my previous post, this is what our foyer looks like:

We're spicing up that entryway table with some fall charm including these lovely items:

$3.00 at Target's One-Spot

$3.00 each

Adorable wreath, also $3.00!

Love me some peanut M&M's!

There we go! Table is all ready to go.

I'm trying to find a fall-ish photo to put in that frame. I'm thinking the middle photo from this collage below:

I just have to find the photo file! We may do without the frame all together... we'll see! What do you think of the decorating so far? All of those items were $3.00 at Target's One-Spot - how cute, right?! Stay tuned for more decorating coming at you tomorrow!

Back to College Shopping Must Haves! #BritaBackToCollege

This post brought to you by Brita. All opinions are 100% mine.

It's the time of year again - back to school! I'm living vicariously through my sister again this year, but she benefits fully from it. (you're welcome Lo) I cannot wait to get back to Saint Mary's and Notre Dame. There's just something special about the Notre Dame tradition. I love it!

My *love* introduced me to my love for ND!

We're thrilled that you're in ND Lo! <3

Lo is already leading the charge on an incredible year as a SMC chick! I can't wait to get on campus and feel that awesome Irish vibe. I'll be accompanied by a cute little back to college package brought to Queen Lo by Brita and all the essentials I could find available at Target!

I'm always on a mission to drink more water, but my love for all things carbonated has gotten in the way too many times before. Lucky for me, I'm a sucker for all things cute - including water bottles! Lo is a lot like me, so I'm snagging her a cute hot pink Brita water bottle. We both could use the energy and rejuvination we'll get from good clean water thanks to the Brita bottle!

I'm totally spoiling the surprise that Lo will get on Saturday, but here are a few of the college essentials I just couldn't live without at LC!

I was always in need of a stapler - especially when I had finished a paper in the nick of time!

Always important to stay healthy at college!

Awesome water from an awesome bottle!

I think it's important for everyone to learn the significance of a handwritten note. It's something I love doing, so I'm hoping to pass this little diddy on to my sister. ;)

What are some essentials you have on your back to college list?
